Inclement Weather Procedures
If weather conditions or forecasts indicate inclement weather, please tune to area radio and television stations for school closing announcements. Radio stations contacted are: KPR/KANU, KLWN, WIBW and KOFO. TV stations contacted are: Channel 6, WIBW-TV, KMBC, KCTV 5, KSNT 27 TV and WDAF Fox 4. The school district also posts school closings on our website, Facebook, and through the SchoolMessenger Notification System. If no school closing announcement is made by 6 AM, it is likely school is in session.
Our district tries to avoid unexpected early dismissals but sometimes early dismissals are unavoidable. Parents should make prior arrangements for supervision of their children. It is important that the schools have the most current phone numbers and emergency contact information on file as well as accurate daytime telephone numbers and emergency contact information.

Please be aware that SchoolMessenger is just one of the ways to be notified. Remember to utilize the other official sources listed above if you are unsure about a school closure.
