14th Annual BEF Pawz Patrol Awards $23,883 to Baldwin Teachers

The Baldwin Education Foundation “Pawz Patrol” visited each school in USD 348 with balloons and fanfare on Sept 13, 2019. The Foundation awarded $23,883 to 55 teachers for 37 innovative project grants for enhancing the education of our district students.

“It is always fun to give away money to our teachers. It is only through the terrific support of our community that we are able to award these grants,” Patty Irick, BEF President said.

This is the fourteenth year for these awards. “We are so fortunate in our district to have terrific educators that come up with unique ideas for their classrooms. The hard part for us is deciding who to fund. We had outstanding applications this year and are grateful to all of our applicants,” Irick said.

BEF funded their first grants in 2006. Since that time they have put more than $175,000 into our classrooms. “We like to say that our projects have touched the educational experience of every student in every building in our district,” Irick added.

The Baldwin Education was formed in 2003 and is a non-profit foundation whose sole mission is to support the students, faculty and staff of USD 348 and help them achieve excellence. They use private dollars from donations from our generous community, alumni and other fundraisers to support our public schools.
