State and National Assessment Information

Current state and federal legislation requires all students in grades 3-8 to be tested annually in reading and mathematics.   For information our our Kansas Assessments, please visit the  Kansas Assessment Homepage.  Baldwin Intermediate students will participate in the following state assessments:

Grade 3:  English Language Arts, Mathematics

Grade 4: English Language Arts, Mathematics

Grade 5: English Language Arts, Mathematics,  and Science

Curriculum Information

Click  here to view all the  Kansas Curricular Standards on the Kansas Department of Education website.  Use the tabs marked “content areas A-E” and “content areas F-L” and “content areas M-Z” to find a specific subject like art,  music, PE, health, etc.

Kansas has adopted the Common Core State Standards for language arts and math. In Kansas, those standards are referred to as the Kansas College and Career Ready Standards.  Click on the subject area above to access the standards or you can download a pdf of the standards by grade level

Kansas Building Report Card

Kansas public schools operate under continuous improvement.  Each school develops and implements a school improvement plan.  The current BESIC school improvement plan was developed with input from staff and parents, including our school site council.  You can view the plan by clicking on the pdf below.
